MH Series Options

As part of our custom manufacturing capabilties, we offer our clients the ability to further customize their headsets with various options and accessories based upon operational requirements and/or mission specific activities.

"WR" Remote Finger Push-To-Talk

The water-resistant “WR” remote swtich measures approximately 5/8” in diameter X 5/8” high and can easily be mounted to a bare or gloved index finger, via the adjustable Velcro strap, for actuation with the thumb. The “WR” can be purchased as an optional remote switch for use with the company’s “K”, “R” and “V-P/CCS” PTT assemblies. The “WR” can also be specified as the desired push-to-talk switch with the company’s “L” PTT assembly.

"WP" Remote Push-To-Talk

The multi-positionable, waterproof, “WP” remote switch measures approximately 3” long X 1/2 wide X 3/8” thick. Its unique design and user customizable Velcro mounting strap allow an operator to choose from several positioning options, including: a) to an index finger for activation with the thumb, b) to a wrist for positioning in the palm and activation with an index or middle finger; c) to a weapon; or d) the strap can be removed allowing the Velcro ‘hook’ covered back of the switch to be attached to a Velcro ‘loop’ patch on an LBE or MOLLE vest. The “WP” can be purchased as an optional remote switch for use with the company’s “K”, “R” and “V-P/CCS” PTT assemblies. The “WP” can also be specified as the desired push-to-talk switch with the company’s “L” PTT assembly.

Inline Quick Disconnects

Generally ordered as a headset cable (inline) quick disconnect affording the operator the ability to separate the headset from the PTT assembly. For example, this allows an operator to affix the entire PTT assembly including radio interface cable and connector (plus a remote PTT switch, if used) to his vest and leave it there at all times when detached from the headset. When preparing for a mission, an operator need only connect his headset to the cabling already positioned and protected in his vest. When coupled together, these connecting male and female halves of the quick disconnect measure approximately 5” long X 1/2 in diameter for the two water resistant versions while the waterproof version measures 5 1/2 long by 3/4 in diameter. These connectors can also be used with straight radio interface cables – but not coiled cable. The two water-resistant versions are preferred by law enforcement operators while the waterproof and Style B water-resistant versions are preferred by military operatives.

Volume Control for Style “K” & "V-P/CCS" Push-To Talk Assemblies

This option is only available for the company’s Style “K” and “V-P/CCS” PTT assemblies. The remote radio volume control provides an operator remote access from the PTT assembly to control his radio volume. It has proven particularly valuable to those who position their portable radios on the backside of their LBE or MOLLE vests. The volume control is available with or without a partially protective shroud. Measuring approximately ½ “ in diameter, the volume control dial can easily be accessed with a gloved hand.

Custom Breathing Apparatus/Headset Adapter Kit

With the addition of a breathing apparatus adapter kit, an operator can communicate in ‘normal’ voice while wearing any MH Series Tactical Headset and gas mask. Each custom kit is provided with a set of components and mounting instructions. The kit should be installed upon receipt and left on the mask permanently. These kits allow an operator to don a mask, position the MH Series Headset properly on his head, then plug the end of the headset boom microphone onto the coupler assembly of the gas mask adapter kit (previously mounted on the mask).

Once connected, the operator no longer has to shout through the mask voicemitter (which has been the past practice when attempting to communicate with fellow operators while using any boom microphone headset). Each kit features custom components designed specifically for particular makes and models of masks.

MH180 Series Front/Back Head Strap Assembly for MH180 and MH180-S Headsets

A front and back, adjustable Velcro head strap assembly specially designed for use with the vertical framed MH180 and MH180-S Tactical Headsets. This option is particularly popular with snipers who generally do not incorporate a PASGT or KEVLAR helmet as part of their gear pack. This dual strap assembly allows the wearer to adjust both the back and front of the strap, inward or outward as needed, to achieve a more secure and stable headset fit. The strap is held in position, on the stainless steel frame, by a left and right side steel snap assembly.
