Combat Arms Earplugs

Atlantic Signal, LLC

COMBAT ARMS EARPLUGS were specifically designed for tactical law enforcement and military operators. The unique dual-end design offers the user the choice of ‘Hear-Through’ and ‘Constant’ Hearing Protection.

The yellow end of the dual-end design is the ‘hear-through’ portion, providing the operator ambient environment, situational awareness by allowing mission critical, low level noise (ex. footsteps, conversation) to pass through the earplug’s, calibrated filter system to the operator’s ear canals while high level impulse noises ( ex. weapon’s fire, explosive devices) are limited - beginning at 110 dB. The louder the noise, the more the Combat Arms Earplugs limit the sound, providing up to 22 dB NRR (Noise Reduction Rating).

The green end of the dual-end design is the ‘constant’ portion, providing continuous protection with an NRR of 22 dB. This feature is crucial when an operator is exposed to an environment where there are continuous high levels of noise (ex. aircraft, armored vehicles, constant gunfire). It is important to note that while the immediate portion of the earplugs offers exceptional protection against noise, it also impedes the operator’s ability to hear his ambient environment.

Combat Arms Earplugs can be used with any model of Atlantic Signal’s line of custom MH Series Tactical Headset Systems. Since all MH Series headsets incorporate bone conduction as the means by which an operator receives radio communications (through the temporal bones of the face), the operator can utilize the Combat Arms Earplugs simultaneously with no adverse effect on radio communication capabilities.

Our Combat Arms Earplugs are attached to a flame-retardant lanyard for user convenience. Prior to a mission, an operator can drape the lanyard around the back of the neck prior to inserting the hearing protectors. Once the threat is eliminated, an operator can simply reach up and dislodge each protector, allowing them to fall onto the front of the vest rather than having to remove each of them individually, locating a pouch or pocket to store them in. A carry case is also furnished with each set of Combat Arms Earplugs.
